We look forward to seeing you at your next session!

01

Leave your second skin on for at least 4 days. During this time, your tattoo will begin to secrete healing fluid (plasma). This plasma will mix with the ink to create a muddy substance that will likely remain on your skin. This is completely normal at this stage. The second skin is breathable and waterproof, so you don't need to worry about showering with it on.

02

Never touch your tattoo unless your hands are clean. Germs and bacteria are everywhere, and a healing tattoo needs to be treated with great care.

03

When you're ready to remove the dressing, it's best to do it in the shower. Gently rinse your tattoo with lukewarm water to loosen the dressing. Wash the area with antibacterial soap (like Dial) and rinse thoroughly. Don't use any cloth or sponge to wash the tattoo.

04

Rinse the tattoo with lukewarm water and pat it dry with a clean paper towel.

05

Apply a small amount of unscented lotion to the tattoo 3-5 times a day during the tattoo healing process (2-3 weeks).

06

Repeat the lotion application 2 times a day until your tattoo has healed. If your tattoo looks dry between applications, apply more lotion as needed.

07

Do not cover or wrap the tattoo once the dressing has been removed.

08

If you have a reaction to the dressing, contact your artist. If the reaction occurs before the 4 days, remove the dressing and follow the aftercare instructions.

09

Your tattoo may be red, scaly, or itchy. Do not scratch or pick at scabs as this can damage the tattoo. Do not soak in water (bathtubs, pools, oceans) or expose yourself to the sun or tanning beds during healing.

10

Avoid exercising, sweating, or any activity that may cause sweating while the tattoo is healing. Avoid direct sunlight and tanning beds.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I care for my newly done tattoo?
Leave your second skin on for at least 4 days...
Can I swim after getting a tattoo?
Swimming is not recommended during the healing process...
How long does it take for a tattoo to heal completely?
The complete healing process of a tattoo usually takes between 2 to 4 weeks. However, the skin can take up to 6 months to fully recover at the cellular level.
Is it normal for my tattoo to peel?
Yes, it's completely normal. During the healing process, the skin will flake and it will seem like the tattoo is peeling. Don't pull off the flakes, let them fall off naturally.
Can I exercise after getting a tattoo?
It's recommended to wait at least 48 hours before doing intense exercise. Sweat can irritate the tattoo and increase the risk of infection. After this period, you can do moderate exercise, but avoid activities that cause direct friction to the tattooed area.
When can I expose my tattoo to the sun?
You should avoid direct sun exposure for at least 4 weeks after getting your tattoo. Even after this period, it's important to always protect your tattoo with high SPF sunscreen to prevent fading.
What should I do if my tattoo gets infected?
If you suspect your tattoo is infected (excessive redness, swelling, pus, fever), contact your tattoo artist or a medical professional immediately. Don't try to treat the infection on your own.
Can I apply cream to my tattoo?
Yes, but only after the second skin falls off or as instructed by your tattoo artist. Use a fragrance-free cream and apply a thin layer. Avoid over-moisturizing the tattoo.
Is it normal for my tattoo to lose ink during healing?
It's normal for a little ink to come off during the healing process, especially when washing the tattoo. However, if you notice significant color loss, consult your tattoo artist.
When can I shave the tattooed area?
Wait at least 3-4 weeks before shaving the tattooed area. Make sure the tattoo is completely healed and use a new razor to avoid irritation or infection.
